Amish Country and Historic Lancaster
Explore the cultures of the Old Order Amish, Mennonite and the English living side by side in the largest inland city in Colonial America. We tour the City of Lancaster that boasts the honor of being the home of the Continental Congress, if only for one day during the American Revolution in 1777.
Drive through the birthplace of the Conestoga Wagon and past Wheatland Mansion, home of James Buchanan, Pennsylvania’s only President. We ride through the Back Country and learn about the customs of the Amish from the cradle to the grave. We see farmers driving driving their horses to market, young couples in their courting buggies, one-room schoolhouses, open fields, Grossdadis, cemeteries and visit a real Amish family complete with dairy cows, Belgian horses and a homemade quilt shop. Lunch/Dinner at the home of an Amish family
